Sponsor breakfast

What's better than a birthday celebration with friends? The CJHS Special Breakfast Program gives you the opportunity to honor your child's birthday or any occasion you wish to make memorable. The students look forward to the bagels and the special attention given at these breakfasts.

For a donation of $162 (9x chai), bagels, cream cheese, and orange juice will be served to all of the students. An announcement will be made in Tefillah, placed on a board in the dining hall, and the occasion will also be listed in our weekly E-News.

The forms and donations must be received at least one week prior to the chosen celebration date. Due to scheduling constraints, we are not able to offer special breakfasts on Fridays.

If you have any questions, please call 847.324.3713 or email ialtman@cjhs.org.  Order forms are available online here.

CJHS Goes Back to School in Style

act fair 4

CJHS welcomed back 149 students this past Monday, including 13 new upperclassmen and a freshman class of 34.  This year's student body represents 19 different communities and includes 3 out-of-town students who board with local families.  Everyone celebrated the start of another fabulous school year with the annual BBQ at the Wiznitzer home.  Thanks to the Wiznitzer family for sponsoring the party and Happy Birthday to Lisa Wiznitzer, who celebrated her 15th birthday during the festivities!

Intergalactic Samurai Tie-Dye
Va'ad Kick Off
What do rubber bands, handprints, and intergalactic samurai have in common? All were integral components of Wednesday's Va'ad Kick-off social program, in which students tie-dyed t-shirts, played icebreaker games, and completed our new CJHS mural, which will be hung in the gym. Thanks to the glorious weather, nearly the entire program took place outside. Yasher koach to Elli Cohn and Rachel Binstock who planned the program, and thank you to Mr. Griffith, Mrs. Wolk, Mrs. Snyder, Ms. Murphy, Gvt. Moskovich, and Ms. Musin, who chaperoned the event.

Student Activities Fair

On Thursday afternoon, students milled around the front lobby, exploring more than a dozen separate booths at the annual Student Activities Fair. Creativity abounded, with videos playing at two booths and "I Joined Va'ad Israel Today" stickers being handed out at another. Each organization demonstrated their wares and encouraged students to sign up to join their group. The air was buzzing with excitement as new and veteran students scanned the wide scope of activities available to--and led by--CJHS students, and a number of students were already discussing the formation of additional student organizations.   Featured groups included Mathletes, Academic Bowl, the Crocheting Club, Jewish World Watch, and the USPC, among others.
