Yasher koach to the 30+ students, faculty, and staff who signed up to give blood at the Va'ad's Second Annual Blood Drive benefiting Heartland Blood Centers. Yasher koach to Rachel Binstock, Va'ad Finance VP, and Va'ad Tikkun Olam Drives Co-Chair, for organizing the blood drive. Thank you to the many people who worked at the blood drive registration table, including Rachel Binstock, Rachel Braun, Mark Weiss, Jacob Stoehr, Donna Abisdris, Gvt. Amit-Sharon, and Ms. Musin.
Studio Art Class Weighs In On the Environment

As an Earth Day project, Mrs. Snyder's Studio Art class has found something useful to do with all those plastic detergent jugs -they have designed personalized hand weights. Freshman Jessica Rubens says, "This project is a healthy way to show creativity. With the urge to go healthy, why Goldbergshouldn't we do it in a fun and stylish way? My individual weights show my love for nature." The students will fill their weights with water and learn a workout routine.

Their weights were on exhibit from May 20 through May 23 at Just Be Fit, a training facility located at 420 Lake Cook Road in Deerfield. The students had an opening reception for "Just My Weights" on Tuesday, May 20.

The Prints Released

Faculty and staff recently received a copy of The Prints, the CJHS literary journal. Yasher koach to Yael Schwartz, Lea Sarris, Hannah Rosenbaum, David Israel and Noa Fleischacker for their hard work; they put their hearts and souls into this year's publication.

This year's edition is dedicated to the memory of Bonnie Dayan. Bonnie was the CJHS contact at the printing company used for the last few years, and is the mother of a teen who is friends with many of our students, specifically David Israel. She was also a friend to many of our parents and was known for her upbeat spirit as she battled cancer for many years. This dedication says so much about Bonnie and about our students who bless the memory of those who have passed.

Several of these articles have been published in the May issue of the JUF News including an article by senior Vanessa Youshaei. Her article can be found in the monthly JUF newspaper or on the JUF website.
