Chicagoland Jewish High School
Our dream is now a reality.

We are excited to announce that our Community-wide Grand Opening Celebration will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2007. The celebration will take place during Chol Hamoed Sukkot, a festive time for all of us. It will be free of charge and is being chaired by CJHS parents Kim Frankel, Sandy Levin and Lori Rabinowitz.

8:00 a.m.       Join us for a special service for Chol Hamoed Sukkot

Rabbi Goldberg will officiate at a special service at Northwest Suburban Jewish Congregation (NSJC), 7800 W. Lyons Street in Morton Grove. Feel free to bring your lulav and etrog. Following the service, refreshments will be set up outside the synagogue. Everyone at the service, and all of the walkers, will be able to prepare healthy snacks to take on the walk.

9:15 a.m.
Journey with us to our new home

Please join us on a Torah procession from our Morton Grove home to our new, permanent home in Deerfield. The walk, which is being chaired by Miriam Rudolph and Inez Altman, will be approximately 9.5 miles. The walkers will stop for a light dairy lunch (provided by CJHS) around 12:30 p.m., before they reach our new site. There will be a police escort and a medical van.

1:00 p.m.       Community-wide celebration

The entire community is invited to join us as we greet the Torah procession and rejoice as the Torahs are taken to their new home. This festive celebration will include simcha dancing and a brief program under an open tent. Following the program, the community is invited to tour the building and enjoy dairy desserts. Parking is available. Tours will be given every 20 minutes and will continue until everyone who would like to see the school has had the opportunity to do so. Mincha will be held around 3:30 p.m.
