30+ CJHS Students Make Their Mark on Kinnus

Last weekend, over 220 USYers gathered for a weekend of learning, friends, and fun at CHUSY Region's 56th Annual Spring Kinnus; over 30 CJHS students and a number of incoming freshmen were present at Kinnus. Yasher koach to our students who led tefillot: Avi Coven, Richard Kahn, Eli Miller, Hannah Miller, Avra Shapiro, Jacob Stoehr, and Josh Warshawsky. The weekend served as a way to close the USY year and was a great opportunity for CJHS students to say goodbye to their USY friends before the summer.

Softball Fundraiser for Friends of the IDF

Next Sunday, May 13, CJHS, Ida Crown Jewish Academy, and the Fasman Yeshiva High School would like to invite you to the first-ever Friends of the Israel Defense Forces Softball Showdown. Each school will play three games at Lerner Park in West Rogers Park (games at noon, 2:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.).

In addition to softball, the day will include concessions, kosher barbecue, and of course, the kind of fun and competitive atmosphere that occurs when three Jewish high schools from the same area join together to make a communal statement of support for Israel.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Friends of the IDF, an organization that supports one of the most integral parts of Israeli society, the Israeli army. If you have questions or would like to help sponsor the event, please contact Matthew Silverman at hoopsguy9141@aol.com.
