CJHS celebrates Purim

CJHS students spent Shushan Purim watching Purim shpeils, eating a special breakfast and packing canned goods at the Chicago Food depository.

The CJHS faculty performed "A Day in the Life of a CJHS student," followed by a stellar rendition of "Law and Order" starring seniors Beth Magid, Evan Dreifuss, junior Jacob Kanter and sophomore Benji Derman.

Following the Purim Shpiels, CJHS students headed to the south side of Chicago to pack canned goods at the Chicago Food Depository. When they returned to school, each CJHS student had a shaloach manot basket to enjoy filled with candy, an apple, chips and a juice box.

"I really enjoyed going to the Chicago Food Depository packing food for those in need," said sophomore Benji Derman. "Purim was fantastic."
